Youth Advocate Programs (YAP), Inc. is joining the May 5^th #GivingTuesdayNow Global Day of Giving and Unity. A national nonprofit, YAP hopes to generate awareness and donations to support community-based alternatives to youth incarceration and out-of-home placement.

#GivingTuesdayNow is an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. The Tuesday, May 5th, global call to action will generate support for communities and nonprofits like YAP that are impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“With the COVID-19 pandemic, YAP faces our biggest challenge ever; while safe, socially distanced services continue, some program funding has disappeared,” said YAP CEO Jeff Fleischer. “This is a time when youth who would otherwise be in prison or placement are in urgent need of community-based services to keep them safely home.”

You can support YAP through #GivingTuesdayNow with a donation and/or by showing support for YAP. Share a YAP social media post or email this one to a friend. Call or FaceTime a neighbor or family member you haven’t spoken to in a while. Share an inspirational poem or post with your social media community. The #GivingTuesdayNow global movement is about opportunities to give back to communities and causes in safe ways that allow for social connection even while practicing physical distancing.
