Chicago, IL (July 5, 2019) – At their May meeting in Chicago, members of The Youth Advocate Programs (YAP), Inc. Board of Directors – many of them, recently appointed -- witnessed powerful testimonials from youth and the Advocates empowering them with tools to succeed.

YAP serves as an alternative to youth incarceration and out-of-home placement in more than 100 communities in 24 states and the District of Columbia. In Chicago and other cities, YAP also applies its model to work with partner organizations to support young people challenged with school disengagement, early justice system involvement and/or violence-related trauma. In a two-part video, hear from the Chicago youth and their YAP Advocates.
