Australia's Life Without Barriers to Visit YAP Sites

LIfe Without Barriers Chief Executive Officer Claire Robbs and Director of Clinical Services Deidre Thompson are coming to YAP to visit a number of YAP programs, hoping to learn from the model to help Austrailian youth and families with services that can prevent out of home placement or return youth safely to the community from out-of-home placement.

The week long journey began on Monday, April 22nd, in Orlando, Florida with a visit to YAP's Orange County Program. YAP runs a number of programs out of this program, including services to cross-over youth involved in multiple systems.

On Tuesday the 24th, the duo visited YAP's administrative headquarters in Harrisburg, PA before stopping at our Lebanon County Office, where we run community-based programs for youth in the juvenile justice, mental health and developmental disabilities systems.

The pair then traveled to Newburgh, New York to visit our Orange County Programs, where we host a number of services for youth in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems, as well as a homeless program for adults.

The US trip will conclude in New York City with a visit to program in the South Bronx that works with youth transitioning from juvenile detention and state facilities.
