(YAP) is one of the largest non-profit Youth and Family Support agencies, in over 30 states plus DC, working with high-risk youth and their families in the United States. Currently, YAP employs more than 2,000 dedicated workers and serves approximately 20,000 youth and families per year. We currently work with child welfare, juvenile justice, behavioral health, disability, primary health care, and education systems to develop and offer community-based alternatives for the highest risk children, young people, young adults and families, and adults. Summary of the Position: Preventive Services believe that every child deserves to be protected from harm in a stable, nurturing environment. Our goal is for all children’s safety, permanency, and well-being. To ensure children tracked are safe from harm, YAP preventive services work to strengthen family ties by assisting parents and/or caregivers to create an environment where their children can feel safe, loved, and can thrive.Preventive Services addresses an array of issues and problems facing families daily, such as mental illness, substance abuse, domestic violence, homelessness, and serious economical struggles. All of which can end in child protective services (CPS) involvement and/or removal of children from their homes if preventive services were not in place.
Qualifications/Requirements: A high school diploma required, some college prefer, two-year experience working with the public preferably in human or social service setting; or a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities to work with complicated populations.
Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and car insurance limits of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability.
