Summary of the Position: This position is responsible to provide direct training and support for the STARS program and STARS families. STARS trainer should have a strong knowledge of the day to day operations of public and private providers of services in the foster care system. This position supports the STARS program as it relates to client case management and providing community outreach and support. The focus of work is not on office duties but focuses on providing direct service and training. There will also be work related to assisting in the operation and administration of the program.
STARS Trainer will provide the following types of training, either in-person or virtually, dependent on the safety needs of families: Orientation to the STARS program, Initial Clinical Training, Ongoing Individual Training, Kinship Training, Tracking Families’ completed Trainings, Routine and Consistent Communication with Families and the STARS Team.
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree and QMHP-C; Master’s Degree preferred with commensurate experience in providing home and community-based services with children and families. Experience with or knowledge of the different types of learning and delivery modalities to meet a diverse clientele. Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written. Must have a flexible schedule, willing to work days/evenings/weekends according to the family availability.
Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and car insurance limits with a minimum of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident bodily injury liability.
