National Director of Violence Interruption

(YAP) is one of the largest non-profit Youth and Family Support agencies, in over 31 states plus DC, working with high-risk youth and their families in the United States. Currently, YAP employs more than 2,000 dedicated workers and serves approximately 20,000 youth and families per year.  Our mission is to engage human service systems so that they rely less on institutional care and invest more in supporting families and neighborhoods. Summary of Position:  The National Director of Violence Interruption would supervise and support YAP’s anti-violence program across YAP, partner with CURE Violence and other government agencies at YAP sites, to strengthen YAP’s credibility and visibility as a leader in anti-violence and to maintain oversight of training for anti-violence sites and system partners in coordination and collaboration with the Employee and Program Development team.

 

Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or with at least five (5) years of experience in violence interruption programs. Must have prior experience working in anti-violence work, economic, and workforce programs, working in urban communities and in providing training. Must have knowledge of Group Violence Reduction Strategy, Cure Violence, street gangs, and gun violence reduction.

 

Travel will be required for this position

 

Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and with minimum car insurance bodily injury liability limit of $100,000/$300,000
