Sierra Leone
We hope that you will contribute to the Sierra Leone Youth Advocate Program, or in some cases continue or increase your contributions. Presently, we have close to 90 primary school-aged children attending our school in Mile 91. Sanusi and our team of paid and volunteer teachers have done a wonderful job in spite of the challenges. Our school was built in the 1950's and has room for about 30 to 40 students at a time. It is a very rough structure with a dirt and concrete floor and little in the way of instructional materials. Yet, our kids -- your kids -- have passed their entrance exams for high school and now need help for tuition to the high school (each semester costs $35 and there are three semesters per year). Look for our Sierra Leone jewelry sale of necklaces and bracelets - we plan to offer them at $35 each and proceeds go to pay for a semester of high school.
