Join Us as a "Partner for Peace"!
You are invited to join YAP as a Partner for Peace as we practice a "Summer of Peace." YAP's Summer of Peace runs from June 22nd until August 30th and is based on the 64 Principles of Nonviolence developed by the Center for Spiritual Living to celebrate the lives and beliefs of Ghandi and Martin Luther King.
The purpose of the initiative is to begin a dialogue with our youth that helps them engage in thoughts and actions that contribute toward building strong and peaceful communities. The dialogue will be supported by simple activities the youth can engage in regularly to re-enforce the peaceful or nonviolent thinking and behavior.
If you'd like to join us, download the appropriate brochure below. You can also click here to have your name and locality added to YAP's Partners in Peace!
YAP's Summer of Peace is a component of YAP VOICE, an agency-wide systems change initiative that has been adopted as one of YAP's major goals. The philosophy of YAP VOICE is to empower and support our young people, families, and our staff to change human service systems so that they rely less on institutional care and rely more on supporting families, neighborhoods and communities. YAP VOICE is poised to reach out to communities nationwide to bring about systems change. To learn more about how you can contribute to and be a part of YAP VOICE, click here. If you would like to donate directly to the YAP VOICE initiative, click the "Donate Now" icon on the left side of the screen, or simply click here.
YAP, Inc. would like to acknowledge the Association for Global New Thought, who developed the 64 Principles for the Summer of Peace. To learn more about this organization, you can access their main website here, or check out the youth website by clicking here.
