Child Welfare Services
Our Model
Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. (YAP, Inc.) is an international leader in community-based services for children, youth and their families. We partner with public agencies so that communities have safe, proven, effective and economical alternatives to institutional placement.
Target Populations
Advocate Programs target high-risk individuals and families, including those least likely to be accepted by other agencies. Examples include youth who are:
- At imminent risk of out-of-home placement due to failed adoption, truancy or high-risk behaviors.
- Remaining in care because they have no community resource identified.
- Needing to be reunified with family and community following placement.
- High-need youth in foster homes at risk of disrupting due to behavior problems.
- Aging out of the foster care system and in need of transitional services.
Our Program
Our child welfare program types include:
- Family & Community Reunification
- Prevention of Placement
- Supporting Foster Parents to Prevent Placement Disruption
- Support for Aging-Out Youth in Transition
- Improving Families (Child Protective Services)
