YAP Youth Help Community Dig Out From Snowstorm

After a recent snowstorm that dumped nearly 3 feet of snow on her city, Lebanon, PA mayor Sherry Capello called on Youth Advocate Programs to help dig out the snowed-in residents. Supervised by their advocates, youth in the program provided snow removal service to eldery community members.

YAP Vice Presdient Carla Benway observed, "Our work at YAP is not just about preventing or reducing behaviors in youth that put them at risk of any number of negative outcomes; rather, the real life changing part of the work is in helping youth- and others- to see their worth and giving them opportunities to contribute to their communities in meaningful ways."
